Windows of Light Jar Covers -- FREEBIE !!! Crochet Pattern

How about a little something free for the week?!? Here you go. This is a freebie crochet pattern for jar covers. You can download the file from BrownieKnits.com or on Ravelry.


Some relaxing crochet and the calming glow of candlelight is headed your way when you make the Windows of Light Jar Covers! All you need is some leftover sock weight yarn, a jar, and a candle to make the covers and add a touch of color to your home d├ęcor. A trio of covers can be made in one evening, so you can switch out covers for the seasons! Package them with some candles and they make great gifts for all your friends! 

Materials: 
Yardage: 145 yards/132.5 meters of fingering weight yarn (total yardage for trio of covers) 
Sample knit out of Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in colors Ophelia and Hollyhock (395 yards/361 meters; 100% superwash merino) 

Gauge: 5.5 dcs / 3 rounds = 1 inch, unblocked and not stretched 

Hook: US D/3 (3.25mm) 
or size needed to get gauge

Notions:
Jars: 12-, 8-, and 4-ounce quilted crystal Ball® jelly jars; 2.-inch diameter x 5.-inch tall (large jar), 2.- inch diameter x 3.-inch tall (medium jar), 2.-inch diameter x 2.-inch tall (small jar) 
Scissors 
Yarn/tapestry needle 

Sizing:
Directions are given to fit 2.-inch diameter jars. However, you can use any size jar you desire by following the notes throughout. If you select a larger jar, you will need additional yarn.
