Brownie Knits Wednesday: Spotlight on Choo Choo Train Blanket


This super fun blanket uses lace techniques to create the choo choo trains. Pattern includes written instructions for setting up each section and trains are charted. The blanket is worked from the bottom up and is addictive! A great size for a baby or toddler blanket. A perfect throw for a child’s room or a train collector’s room.

Materials:
868 yards of worsted weight yarn
Berroco Vintage in color Blue Note or Knit Picks Swish Worsted are great options.

Gauge:
4 sts/6.25 rows to inch in St st

Needles:
US 9 29'' or 32'' circular
OR size needed to get gauge; a needle with a pointed tip
will help you with the lace techniques


Notions:
4 stitch markers; Row counter

Sizing:
32''W x 40''H (fully blocked)

This afghan is knitted with a garter stitch border around the top, bottom, and sides of the blanket. The center panel of the blanket is divided into 3 areas that alternate between St st and trains.
