Customizing Your Sleep Sack

One of the fun things about my sleep sack pattern is how easy it is to customize it for each little baby. The easiest way to customize it is in your yarn/color choice. Because it uses sock yarn, you can get lots of fun colors and stripes. However, you can also customize it by...

  1. Selecting either the closed bottom or a ribbed bottom.
  2. Shorten or lengthen.
  3. Use the cable instructions (if using the ribbed bottom) or leave the cable off.
  4. Add embellishments to the front.
This little number was knitted out of a pretty variegated green and features three crocheted turtles running down the front. It is ribbed on both ends so that it is reversible and easy to change the baby. The yarn is Knit One Crochet Two Crock-O-Dye. What a gorgeous yarn to work the silk bit. The green in person is more vibrant than the photos show. It was knitted on a US 2 and US 3 needle in the round with 1 stitch marker.

I'm excited to make up a girl one with some flowers on the front. Think of all the possibilities!
