Thumbless Mittens for a Baby

My SIL Nicki asked for thumbless mittens and a hat for Raleigh for the upcoming winter. I couldn't find a pattern I liked that was the right size, so I just did my own thing.

Yarn: Dream in Color Classy
US Needle: 6
Pattern: Cast on 20 with long tail. Knit in 1 x 1 rib for 1.5 inches.
Increase 4 evenly with a M1 and switch to St st.
I knitted to 4.5 to 4.75 inches and then decreased.
Mittens are meant for a 12 month old with long fingers. Even with that, I'm worried that my little guys fingers are super long. (I made the overall mitten 1 inch longer then most 12 month patterns.)

I also knitted him up a bear hat. GRRRRRrrrrrrrrr....
