Petapoo

We've started taking long walks on Sunday mornings. We have a great trail just down from our house. It's been nice to just be outside and enjoy the morning. Slow down a bit. Sometimes we will go long stretches without even talking. Then I realize I wasn't even thinking about anything--just enjoying the day.

The dogs LOVE it. Riley is a tank. You put him on a leash and he will walk himself to death. He puts his head down and goes--except for the marking every tree thing. Poor little Kennedy tries very hard to keep up with Riley. She has to take two steps for every one of his. She has been making it a little over half of the walk. So, I decided that because she is so small, we would invest in a Petapoo pouch for her.

She loves it and comes close to falling asleep. I think she would be happy to sit in it while I work around the house. She had this look on her face during the walk that said, "This is the life."

I know, I know. Dogs are meant to walk and, believe me, she gives it a go. Her little legs just can't make it as long as we can, so a little lift is in order. She gets SO excited when we get in the car to drive to the park. When we drive home, she curls up and closes her eyes. One tired little yorkie...
