QueenAnneCardigan Announcing the Fall Knit-Along

Our 2008/2009 knit-alongs were such a success that we are launching another one this fall! This one is extra special because it is centered around the designs from one of our very own--Christina Wall.

Christina has worked at Stitches & Scones for a few years and has gradually built up her catalog of designs. In addition to her designs that are sold at Stitches & Scones and Ravelry, Christina also has been published in knitting magazines and has completed designs for Alpaca With a Twist.

Christina is known for her top-down sweater designs that have a feminine touch. The picture featured here is a free design available in Ravelry. It has even been translated into French! She is also venturing out into baby/infant and men garments, so there are a few of those as options too.
Moss Henley The Details

To sign up for the knit-along, you can register at the store during normal business hours. The registration fee is $10.00 and space is limited. In addition to the registration fee, we do request that you purchase your yarn at Stitches & Scones.

Sign up by September 1st and you will be entered into a special drawing. Hurry! You don't want to miss out on this fun group!

So what do you get for that $10.00 fee? Fun, fun, fun, and support! Each month we will hold two sessions--one on a Thursday evening and one on a Saturday. In these monthly sessions we will have a demo session, answer questions, and have a door prize drawing for those in attendance. Yummy goodies and lots of knitting fun are scheduled for all sessions!

(Note: The Thursday/Saturday options are so that you have the flexibility to attend. We will present the same material in both sessions within in a month so that people get to hear and see the demos. However, you are welcome to attend both sessions in a month if your schedule allows.)

The demos will include coverage of short row shaping to reduce back creep, cabling instructions, and much more.

By the way, that is the Moss Henley sweater modeled by JK, Christina's husband.
Emma Jacket The Emma Jacket

This jacket can be made cropped or hip length. The pattern also provides two options for sleeves and offers a short-row shaping option at the back of the neck. The 5 stitches to an inch gauge lends itself to all kinds of wonderful yarns, including many of our new arrivals. You also get to have fun picking out buttons to finish off the jacket. Gina is making the cropped version and Tonia is knitting the hip length. A special hand out for this pattern will be provided to KAL participants.
LaceyTemptationCardigan Lacey Temptation Cardigan

This is one of Christina's newest designs. This top-down cardigan is a cozy one with the garter body, but the neckline really sets it off. The beautiful lace, that is knit from the neck and down both fronts, will make this sweater one of your favorites. Gina is knitting this one out of the Berroco Vintage Wool that we just received. A wonderful value in beautiful colors!
BirthdayCakeCowl The Birthday Cake Cowl

This clever little cowl is a store hit. Using just 160 yards, this pattern can be knitted up in a few days and makes a great holiday gift. Nancy and Gina are both knitting up samples for display to help you along the way.
TemptationCowlVest Temptation Cowl Vest

The cowl neck on this vest is simply gorgeous. The recent resurgence of vests make this a must for your knitting list. Tonia is knitting up her vest now and is loving it, and you will too! Try your hand at lace and cabling.
LittleProfessorVest The Little Professor

Do you have a new little boy in your life or need to knit up a baby boy gift for a friend or loved one? This newborn/infant vest is sure to make him look handsome. It is also the perfect project to try out cables. Oh so cute!
Georgette Georgette Sweater

This lovely sweater is a beautiful lace that can be worn in the fall or spring. Knit out of a DK weight yarn, it is light and perfect for those warmer days of fall and the chilly days of spring. Gina is knitting this one up and will be able to provide special instruction if you knit this pattern.
